Royal Avenue Public Realm: Update

In July 2022, the King’s Road Partnership coordinated a working group meeting, consisting of residents, businesses, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) Cabinet Member Cem Kemahli, Royal Hospital Chelsea and conservation groups to agree an approach to improving Royal Avenue’s public realm.

It was agreed that the group will meet on a regular basis to oversee the development of public realm proposals for the area in the red line boundary, which are sympathetic to the historic fabric and context of the area and can contribute to reducing street clutter and anti-social behaviour. Improving links and views through to the Royal Hospital will also be important elements of the study.

The King’s Road Partnership will be coordinating the appointment of design consultants to carry out initial design work and to work collaboratively with local stakeholders and community groups throughout the design process.
